SERVICE BULLETINS PAGE DISCLAIMER. PLEASE READ!

This website in no way claims to be a full and final list of the compliance recommendations or bulletins by any manufacturer but merely as assistance to owners and parachute technicians in helping compile the information needed to maintain compliance with the applicable rules. It does however list all the NZPIA safety directives and variations to manufactures instructions currently issued by the NZPIA.

Within our rule structure we know that CAR 105.51, 105.55, 105.103, 105.107. 105.111 and NZPIA OP.21.1, OP.21.3, OP.21.5, OP21.7, OP.21.9 relates to parachute serviceability, maintenance and airworthiness.  The responsibility is generally laid on the owner as detailed in CAR 105.111 requiring that an operator must maintain a record of each parachute assembly that details the serviceability of that equipment.

Airworthy and serviceable condition means: a parachute assembly, including its components essential to the manufacture and operation of the parachute assembly must comply with all the requirements prescribed by the Civil Aviation Rules relating to design, manufacture, maintenance, modification, repair and safety and all the NZPIA rules related to design, manufacture, maintenance, modification, repair and safety.
Therefore, for an operator to maintain a parachute in an airworthy and serviceable condition, they must have access to all available publications, including service information, assess the information for applicability, action accordingly and record that action in the maintenance records. Leaving aside publications made mandatory by air worthiness directives, manufacturers’ publications may be considered as three general headings:

1. Recommended instructions or methods, techniques, and practices for the
---performance of maintenance;

2. Recommended instructions, modifications or inspections,
3. Mandatory modification or instructions issued by the manufacturer unless the modification is subject of a safety directive issued by a parachute organisation, or a variation is approved by a parachute organisation.

Any instruction, service bulletin or modification not listed here, the NZPIA would be most grateful for a copy to add for others to reference. These can be sent to, nzpia@nzpia.co.nz any other questions should be directed to the NZPIA.
